First-time customers occasionally ask what an appointment actually involves, which is fair - unless you've had similar work done before, there's no real reason you'd know. Here's the honest version.

Before Arrival

You'll get a realistic time window, not a vague “sometime today.” If anything's running late and on a trade job, sometimes it will, you'll get a message rather than being left checking the window.

On Arrival

The first few minutes are usually spent understanding the job properly: what's actually happening, what's been tried already if anything, and a walk-through of the relevant area before any tools come out. This isn't wasted time, it's where a lot of the actual diagnosis happens, well before anything gets opened up.

During the Work

You'll get a plain-English explanation of what's being done and why, not a technical monologue that assumes you already know what an RCBO is. If something unexpected turns up mid-job which does happen, particularly in older properties, you'll hear about it and agree next steps before anything extra gets done, not find out after the invoice.

Cleanup and Handover

Dust sheets down before anything messy starts, and the area left as it was found once the job's done - not “reasonably tidy,” actually tidy. You'll get a walkthrough of what was done, any relevant certification, and a straight answer if there's anything else worth keeping an eye on.

The Bit That Doesn't Change

Whether it's a five-minute fix or a five-day rewire, it's the same person turning up, doing the work, and being reachable afterwards if you've got a question. No subcontractors, no handoff to someone who wasn't there for the original conversation.

None of this is complicated or particularly special - it's really just what a straightforward, professional visit should look like. It's only worth writing down because, based on what people tell us about past experiences elsewhere, it apparently isn't always a given.
